Background:

In 2018, Aviro launched Pocket Clinic, a multichannel (web, WhatsApp and app) point-of-care diagnostics support and linkage to care platform that improves infectious disease outcomes for both patients and providers. We are initially supporting HIV self-testing but with a view to expand to other use cases. In the previous year we have (1) built a basic version of the tool and tested it in studies with Johns Hopkins, Wits University and others; (2) signed high-profile health providers who are piloting the tool this year; and (3) refined our business plan and proposition to have a strong income and scaling strategy. We are scaling our platform and as such we are hiring for the role of Product Owner to join our growing team. We are looking for a Product Owner to work with the Product Manager to support product-market fit and manage the business product with the squad.

Job Purpose:

The Product Owner oversees the development of products from start to finish to ensure they meet Aviro's product vision and deliver to clients' needs. Their main duties include managing the product backlog, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, working closely with the development team and scrum master to deliver market-leading products that both delights customers and delivers to company objectives.

We Are Looking for a Product Owner Who Can:

• Establish and maintain a prioritized product backlog roadmap that guides production of the Aviro Pocket Clinic by gathering and synthesizing all stakeholder inputs
• Overseeing all stages of product creation include design and development
• Coordinate resources and product team to ensure product timelines and roadmap completion
• Coordinate and manage design inputs required to develop new product features, marketing, SOPs, etc that will help to achieve the product goals
• Report and communicate with all stakeholders on progress
• Writing feature requirements for product
• Develop and support QA process including producing user test cases and being the final QA sign off

Minimum Requirements for the Position:

• Agile/Scrum/Product certification from a recognised body, experience in Kanban/Scrum/Scrumban agile methodologies
• Digitally and technologically proficient -GSuite, Slack, Project Management tools (ClickUp), Miro, Figma
• A minimum of 3 years previous Product Owner experience in a relevant field (IT, FinTech, Digital FMCG)
• Clear skills in development and execution of writing feature requirements, user stories, process maps, user flows etc
• Please note this is a full time position, Monday to Friday from 9AM - 5PM (SAST)

‍Preferred Requirements/Qualifications for the Position: (these are advantageous but not required for the position)‍

• Previous experience with product launch and release
• Proven support in defining acceptance criteria, develop and support QA process including producing user test cases
• Basic understanding/interest in software architecture technologies and languages - AWS, GCP, SQL, etc
• An interest in social impact, innovation and digital health
